AFC 9's (10U & 11U)

Skill Application and Game Awareness

AFC 9’s represents the transition from foundational play to purposeful development. Players are introduced to more general team concepts while continuing to prioritize technical mastery and intelligent decision-making. Training focuses on individual skill execution under pressure, small-group tactics, and understanding space, angles, and support. Competition is used as a teaching tool, helping players learn how their technical skills translate into game situations. At this stage, players begin to develop game awareness, accountability, and consistency, preparing them for the increased demands of 11v11 play.

Training

Athletes train 3 times a week in a year-round model.  Training will continue to focus on individual ball mastery and the players relationship with the ball.  Tactical cues of small group and paired movement of players will begin to get introduced at this level.

Games & Tournaments

Teams formed at this age group will compete in Classic divisions in local and regional play in the Spring and Fall.  High quality tournaments that provide optimal challenges for each team will be the driving force of selecting additional competitive events.  Drive time should never be more than game time.
